Welcome to my latest writing where I will be informing you a little about what’s going on around the office. Also today, I would like to finish the blog I started a few weeks ago about Super 8.

So to start with Super 8 and the question I posed weeks ago - Is Super 8 super? The simple answer is damn right it's super! There isn't enough I could even say about the film to justify how great it is. First and foremost - the story line is fantastic and entertaining. The movie follows a group of child filmmakers and how the events taking place in their little town affect not only their lives but also the lives of their family’s and the town’s people. The entire piece is very dramatic and well written from the first spoken words to the last.

This film was made on a budget of 50 million dollars and I can tell you they spent every penny to the max! I have seen films far less superior for budgets as high as 250 million. The imagery is incredible and that always has a positive effect on the film. I’ll tell you another thing – the way they introduce you to the alien is genius. The being has several interactions with people before you actually see what it looks like. I feel that this is a great way to build suspense. Some of the true classics do the same and it always builds a great excitement within me to see this technique.

Last but not least regarding Super 8, I have to mention the acting of the children especially Elle Fanning. Not to take away from Jack Mills or any of the other children or adult actors for that matter but Elle was amazing. I can guarantee that she will be one to watch for a long time to come. There is one particular scene where she is “practice acting” for the film the kids are making and it almost brought a tear to my eye. She is that’s damn good and at her age, the sky is the limit.

In case you’re interested in our film making progress, we have finished “The Black Eyed Children”. The cut we had shown at the premier party was wonderful but needed a little more work and that too has been finished thanks a great deal to Matt and his everlasting quest to put out the best product we can. Even if it means very little sleep for weeks at a time, which Matt endures, God bless him.

Now were getting ready to make the film I recently wrote. Steve is revising the project and will be done with that very soon. Tomorrow Matt and I are going for a meeting with 2 of the 4 potential actors and actresses for the film. Fingers crossed we might secure our intended folks for their potential parts. That will make me feel great since all this needs to fall into place before our first day of filming in September. October will be the month most of the next project is shot so hopefully a premier party will soon follow.
